Just came by a verse tat i find is meaningful and is practical.so jus abit of sharing here.

Romans 2:13

"For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous."

It is also, not the listenin of sermon which make a person righteous. It is the practice of the law of God taught in a sermon that makes a person righteous.
so a question for today: have u practice what has been taught is sermon? well, certainly no one can be perfect(except God),not everyone can absorb as much knowledge as smarter ppl can do.but everyone has a heart. With a sincere heart,be the best of yourself as a God's child. ;) .

ps:if i've posted anything wrong/misleading.do guide me.thks.

God bless...TS1.

With Love,
Abigail Yu.

Who told you that?

Saw this blog post and wanted to share it with you guys, Enjoy:

I’m pleasantly surprise at the amount of lies I/people believe in. After the fall, Adam began to explain to God how he was ashamed and afraid because he was naked.

I love the way God responded: “Who told you that you were naked?” Genesis 3:11

Obviously Adam had been influenced, informed and instructed by a voice other than the voice of God. God was perturbed about it! “You think you need to hide in shame and be afraid? Who told you that?”

I wonder how many times God has the same objection when He hears the lies we believe:

Who told you that?
Who told you weren’t capable?
Who told you one little compromise wouldn’t hurt?
Who told you you’d never accomplish anything significant?
Who told you it was too late to start over?
Who told you that you couldn’t be forgiven?
Who told you that you had to settle for that?
Who told you you’d never gain victory over that sin pattern?

So many voices compete to create a cacophony of confusion concerning the things we believe about ourselves. God’s voice resonates with clarity, wisdom, and vision. Who misled you? Who talked you out of your dream? Who convinced you that you didn’t measure up?

the importance of accountability

Hey! Ts 1,
it really awesome that God placed me in this Group! i believe even when circumstance changes, one thing that stay is our relationship with God. I believe God is testing me in this area!
This blog allow us to share our tots and learning, i will try to blog often okay!

i want to share this article about the importance of accountability! I agreed with what meihua shared during last prayer meet, we are not fighting against our leaders or shepherd! Thus, lets make accountability a character and an element of spirit of excellence. AMEN!

"What does the Bible say on the importance of accountability?"

Answer:
With much temptation already in the world today, Satan is working overtime to create even more. We must have a brother or sister we can count on when we are facing temptations that threaten our spiritual lives. King David was alone the evening he was tempted into adultery by Satan. It may have appeared to be Bathsheba who tempted him (2 Samuel 11), but the Bible tells us we fight a war not of flesh but of the spirit, against powers and spiritual forces who threaten us (Ephesians 6:12).

Knowing we are in a battle against the forces of darkness, we should want as much help as we can gather around us. In Ephesians, Paul tells us that we must be equipped with all the power that God supplies to fight this battle. “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). Paul realized that even if we equip ourselves with everything God has to offer in defense of evil, we are still human and we may not always be able to resist Satan’s temptations. We know without a doubt that temptation will come.

Satan knows our weaknesses, and he knows when we are vulnerable. He knows when a married couple is fighting and perhaps feeling that someone else might understand them better. He knows when a child has been punished by his parents and might be feeling spiteful. He knows when things are not going well at work and knows how that reminds us of the bar that is on the way home. Where do we find help if we have done all we can do to fight the battle? We want to do what is right in the sight of God, yet we are weak. What do we do?

Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend's countenance.” A friend’s countenance is a look or expression of encouragement or moral support. When is the last time you had a friend call you just to ask how you were doing? When is the last time you called a friend and asked her if she needed to talk? Encouragement and moral support from a friend are sometimes the missing ingredients in fighting the battle against Satan.

The writer of Hebrews summed it up when he said, “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching…” (Hebrews 10:24-25). Accountability is crucially important in the battle to overcome sin. An accountability partner can be there to encourage you, to rebuke you, to teach you, to rejoice with you, and to weep with you. Every Christian should have an accountability partner with whom he or she can pray, talk, confide, and confess.

Welcome!

To all the new transfers: Welcome!

In this group, TS1, God has really blessed us with the presence of many people. I believe God really wants to do something in this group, to stir up something in each and everyone of our hearts. I couldn't make it in time for the celebration today for cg but I really want to welcome the transfers! You all add freshness, life and blessings to the group. Hope to get to know you all better as the days go by. =D

As a human being, I make mistakes. If I have ever said or done anything that hurt, disappoint or anger anyone, I sincerely apologize. I'm sure in future I will continue to hurt people, knowingly or unknowingly. Please bear with me, correct me in love. I can be defensive but am willing to talk sense. I have many weaknesses but I'm sure this group will help me to grow in these areas.

It's kind of random and awkward to talk about the above but being a family member of TS1, there will surely be times when I step on people's toes or I am being stepped on. However, God has placed us together, in a group, in a family for a reason. Whether we are comfortable or not, as long as we know who we are serving, I'm sure we will grow. Let's focus on God, not on the people. Be in love with God over and over again.

Bye bye Meiyi/Kiwi Welcome Avril/Titus

On 11th July 2010, Meiyi and Kiwi have pledge their obedience to God by going to water baptism~~!!!

Hooray~~!!! Btw water baptism is not about going into the water and refresh yourself by the cooling sensation of the water so~~

Why water baptism you ask? Basically

1) To show obedience towards Jesus – Matt 28:19-20

2) Proclaim our faith and to Jesus before men – Matt 10:32-33

3) Symbolises the burial of our old self (sinful) and to proclaim Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection - Rom 6:1-4

I really believe that blessings from God will come when we choose to obey and follow his ways. so Kiwi and Meiyi continue to obey and have a close relationship with him so that His plans for you can unfold. Plans to prosper and not to harm you. =D

For the rest of us also take this time to remember ours and reaffirm our obedience in him which bring forth life to the fullest. WOooo~~!!!

Rejoicing as a family of Christ~~~~

Btw pictures coming up soon =D

Avril and Titus thank God for your obedience.. Looking forward to see how God is going to use the both of you greatly =D

Review/Advocation

A few days ago, an intense conversation with my sis brought me thinking about this topic:

Ideal VS Reality

We were discussing about our concepts of life and the kind of people we want to become. A quick view about our discussion so that you can understand my basis for the brainwork.

In this world, people inevitably fall into this chain effect -
Action --> Experience --> Reaction
In good situations, this effect is good in giving positive reinforcement. But if it's a bad situation, the reinforcement becomes punishment. This makes us and the rest of the world simply being reactive to experiences and knowledge that we have instead of being true to ourselves.

For example, in your workplace, nobody genuinely cares about you or wants to know you out of pure motives. Thus, you conclude that to survive in the marketplace, you have to be tough and powerful, making yourself lose your inner being along the way. This is reaction.

I challenged this concept. I told her I want to be the kind of person who insists and sticks to "Action" even after an "Experience". To keep doing what I believe is right even after discouragement, so that when people see the tenacity, they would see my belief. To inspire instead of react. Imagine how the world would be like if everyone were to live like that. Think insistent of kindness. Think faith of a child.

She threw a question back. "So are you?" It took me a second to comprehend the meaning behind those words. Aside from the instinctual hurt in pride, what aroused my interest is the reveal of her desire to see that happen through an offensive question. Almost like hope.

I got back to the question, and find it still more interesting. I'm not. I'm not? Why not?? Since it's my concept and I believed (unlike my sis) that such a way in living is possible without being Mother Mary, then why am I not living up to it?

At that moment, I realized that even the people that we least expect to learn from us may be observing us. Because living together as a family, even if they are not intentionally observing, they may chance upon snippets of observations. How important is being consistent and living up to our identity. I have to turn the ideal into reality.

By the way, my best friend, Grace, has showed me through her life that this way of living is possible. Behavior does not have to follow the rule of chemical reaction. It can manifest from the heart.

Sure, people get jaded after bad experiences - just like most people already had. Instead of trying to conjure up methods to deal with reality, a better way is to make plans to reach the ideal.

In response to the previous post

Thanks for sharing on your views. However for the last part that is mention

“U do not even need to go to church if ur faith in God is strong”

I would like to clarify that point on the reasons why we need to go to church with the word of God as well:

(1) It is an Expression of our Love for God

Going to church is a visible, tangible expression of our love and worship toward God. It is where we can gather with other believers to publicly bear witness of our faith and trust in God, something that is required of all Christians (Matt. 10:32-33) -- and it is where we can bring Him offerings of praise, thanks, and honor, which are pleasing to Him. The psalmist wrote, “I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You” (Psa. 22:22). People are often motivated toward church attendance for how it will bless themselves, however we should remember that the primary purpose of the corporate gathering is to bring “service” to the Lord as a blessing to Him (Psa. 134:2). Indeed, the Lord is deserving of our time and energy to honor Him with our service of devotion. “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created” (Rev. 4:11).

(2) It builds up our Spiritual Strength

Receiving the preaching and teaching of the Word of God increases our faith and builds us up spiritually. Every believer knows what it is to face spiritual conflicts to their faith, and must realize the importance of being fed spiritually so that they can overcome the challenges. Paul states that Christians face a wrestling match with the Devil and his evil spiritual forces, and warns that the church must put on spiritual armor for protection, as it will take everything at our disposal to stand (Eph. 6:10-18). How important that we take every opportunity available to receive ministry and strength from God’s Word. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17).

(3) It brings a special visitation of the Lord’s Presence

There is the promise of a special visitation of the Lord’s presence whenever two or more gather specifically in the name of Jesus. By implication, this means whenever “Jesus” is the object of gathered prayer, worship, praise, preaching, etc. Even though Jesus resides within the heart of every believer, he honors a gathering in his name by coming in the “midst,” with his power, awareness, and anointing. In such a gathering, Christ is able to do things in hearts that he may not at any other time. The scripture says that God inhabits the praise of His people (Psa. 22:3), and in such an atmosphere the Holy Spirit will often manifest spiritual gifts that minister to the body of Christ. “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20).

(4) It provides fellowship with other Christians

Gathering together also has compounded importance to the relationship of the Christian brethren. The Bible makes it clear that a right relationship with God requires a “vertical” and “horizontal” alignment — that is, we must have a vertical fellowship with God and a horizontal fellowship with other believers. It is not possible to love God and refuse to love the brethren. If you have a problem loving other Christians, you have a problem in your relationship with God. Scripture warns us that unforgiveness toward others will void God’s forgiveness of our own sins (Matt. 6:15). John wrote, “He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him” (1 John 2:9-10).

One of the most important reasons that we go to church is to practice love toward the brethren in the form of fellowship. The Bible clearly shows that if we have a right relationship with God, we have fellowship with others believers. “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). Keeping ourselves in love and harmony with other believers keeps us humble before God so that Christ’s blood can continue to cleanse us from our sins.

(5) It is an act of obedience to God

Not to be forgotten, going to church is also a matter of obeying God’s Word. The writer of the Hebrew epistle tells us not to forsake assembling together, implying that continued absence can lead to willful sin. “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,” (Heb. 10:24-26). Once again, we are reminded that a great part of the purpose of the gathering is for the consideration of our brethren, coming together to help motivate and encourage one another. This is a responsibility charged to every believer. To reject church attendance, is a rejection of one of the sacred duties of the believer. “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James 4:17).

(6) It provides accountability to spiritual leadership

More strong evidence that proves that we’re to be a part of a church fellowship, is that we’re told to submit to the authority of spiritual leaders (within the boundaries of God’s Word). “Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you” (Heb. 13:17). God designed this system of accountability for the progress and protection of His flock. Obviously, this really isn’t possible unless we are a part of an organized fellowship which has identified elders, pastors, or leaders. It is easy to see that one cannot genuinely be under submission to a TV pastor who has never met you. Nor is it possible to be under submission by visiting a different church each week. The Bible tells us to know them that are over us in the Lord (1 Thes. 5:12). Submission necessitates a commitment and relationship to a local body of believers and to their spiritual leaders.

(7) It combines our spiritual strength in prayer

The Bible indicates that agreement in prayer with other believers has special favor with God. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven” (Matt. 18:19). There is multiplied strength in the combined faith of God’s people, and it is clear that greater spiritual gains can be realized through corporate prayer and worship. This agrees with how God has historically blessed the union of His people in battle against their enemies. “Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you” (Lev. 26:8).

I hope that all of us can understand the importance and the reason for coming to church. Jia you everyone.. Thanks for letting me explain why we do what we do =D

Lastly we are called to fulfil the great commission…

What about you all why do you think we should go to church?

WORLD CUP FEVER!

The world cup is upon us n boy! am i suffering a high fever from it! :P Anyway, here r my thoughts on this prestigious event! (more will come!)

" There wasn't going to be any doubt of GreatD catching the greatest sporting event in the world. I'm an early bird so i only paid the promotion price for the star hub package! But even if it cost 94 bucks, I will still pay to watch it! Cos judging from how rapidly the world is degrading, i may not live to catch the next 1" (GreatD on watching the world cup)

" Fancy football won't win u the cup. u need tactical discipline, hard work, strong mental strength, unity n the ability to grind out results without playing well, to get the job done. Entertaining football will only win u the crowd which counts for nothing in the end" (GreatD on how to win the world cup)

" France, Italy, Germany, Argentina n MAYBE Brazil" (GreatD"s world cup picks)

" Those merry makers who refuse to pay the price r only making fools of themselves by staging candid demonstrations. If they don't like it, they should just take it in their stride. What do they hope to accomplish? They r only playing into the hands of the organiser who is pocketing the money of cheap merchandising. All the money spent is more than enough to get a subscription at ur cosy home! Typical singaporeans!" (GreatD on the flawed social mentality of singaporeans)

" England will not win it, not now or ever. Why? cos they r not mentally strong n buckle under pressure. They need to think that they r nothing as long as they dont win the world cup n cut out all the hype." (GreatD on why england wont win the world cup)

" Its an age old tradition of me buying world cup merchandise in time for the event. I have already bought the official fifa world cup tees of Argentina, Germany, Italy n a cap." (GreatD on world cup fever)

Finally a posting from me LOL!!

'Yah Yah Yah' which means hey hey hey in korean language. LOL thnx to Joycelyn learn new Korean word.

Anyways I'm DONOVAN and yeah I've decided to post something bout my work life and my spiritual life as well. Guess what i typed out this post during working hours and this show how free am I during work lol.

Firstly I wish to declare God's grace upon me because the job i'm at now allows me to do wonderful things such as serving the net, watching movies(not so wise), listen to P&W to prepare for music prac and not forgetting reading Christian Books. I think God is testing me to really know how to spend my time wisely and correctly. Relating back to this Job I think is a blessing in disguise cause i'm paid hourly which is like $7/hr considered very very little loh. One day, to my surprise, My Assistant Manager actually requested me to print out a copy of my resume and pass it to her. I was actually 'hallucinating' am I like going to be a FT staff WOW more money. (that's not the case) At my current age and with my qualifications I think I deserve more than what I'm achieving now.
Low and Behold, truly my Assitant Manager spoke to me personally and offered me a FT 1 yr contract with some privileges which is better than nothing. I wanna Thank God for being so gracious to me where I or rather all of us whom don't deserve it. Ezra 9:8 I chose this verse cause I think it really reminds me that how God has provided shelter and protection for us.

Last but not least my Spiritual Growth,
I believe that many of you or rather some of you know that when I was serving in the NS group, I was spiritually unwell due to duties at camp and only able to attend service twice a month. It affected me tremendously and I was not able to see myself growing at any circumstance. I remember this two Sat was ESS and I was not able to attend cause my duty fell on that date. I was glad when I ORDed. But still this didn't fill up my empty vessel as I found it hard it to transit back to serving the Lord but I did things that I was not meant to do. (To be honest and truth I want everyone to know and see what I was like before even though I was a christian.) I was a very temperament person and couldn't control my emotions, I served porn on the Internet and sprouted vulgarities like water. I believed some of you saw my comments on Facebook as well.
After all had happened, my Shepherd decided to meet me up and he rebuked me for not showing the correct ethics of a Christian. He shared, cared and prayed for my change. And truth enough, my life had not really a 360 degree but 180 degrees change, (cause i still see myself the need for improvement), as I moved on to the 20 something group, my burden for guys grew and really want to see myself leading a group of guys. Genesis 1:26 God even proclaimed man to rule over the nations. And of course I'm proud to annouce that i'm being blessed with a sheep and he is none other than Kiwi. Guys out there, I really want to challenge everyone of you to be a leader of your flock and make them rise to another level. Lastly I really want to Thank my one and only Lord and Saviour for showing kindness and grace to me even though I was so so so rebellious. THANK YOU LORD!!

Yeah. Now you know how I was like, I hope many men out there will be willing to change and bring the leadership of men to another level. Lets bring GLORY and VICTORY in the Kingdom of GOD Amen!!!

Spending time with God 1st in the morning….

Recently I’ve been practising a habit that is to wake up at around 6+ in the morning to spend time with God.

Mark 1:35 - “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

I want to learn from Jesus, It’s a real challenge to me as I love to snooze the clock until I’m going to be late then I’ll wake up and leave the house and the timing it’s just nice one. (I mean most people do that right? or am I the only one??)

So if I have stomach-ache then I’ll be late. BUT I believe by spending time with God early in the day, we are more aware of the Lord's working in our lives. We sense His protection and wise advice when the enemy attacks. We sense His graciousness and kindness in the beauty of creation. We sense His forgiveness when we stumble and repent. We're more aware of His loving hand, everywhere.

Just to share the blessing that I’ll received after I’ve picked up this habit like just 2 days ago

- Company bus now pick me up below my house (Save money, Save time, save energy to walk)

- Prayer answered (ask me in person if you want to know)

With just 2 days I’m been bless with so much things, I really believe more is to come when you place him 1st.

The link shows us in the bible about early rising:

http://www.bible-topics.com/Early-Rising.html

Let’s start spending time with God in the morning ya? Will be hearing testi from you soon =D

With love,
Wei Cai
